Homewod – 18 episode web series for Antropos CrossFit
Creation of a web series of 18 episodes broadcast on YouTube and other social media.
Faced with the challenge of keeping in touch with the members, the Antropos CrossFit sports club has developed a series of exercises to do at home. Given the rapid changes imposing a sanitary lock-down due to Corona-virus, and the need to offer members home-based workout alternatives, this series was developed from concept to first episode in a record time.
So, only two days after initial discussions about the format, the first episode was released online, the day after it was shot.
An important project involving the development of the concept, filming and editing, all in a very short time scale
Following the closure of the economy because of the Coronavirus Lockdown, Antropos CrossFit had to quickly find a solution that would allow them to continue to offer coaching and sporting advice to its members while they remained confined to their homes.
Thus, it was decided to shoot a first series of 6 episodes, later followed by 12 additional ones. The first episode scheduled to be released the day after the first filming day, with one episode released daily (except Sundays).
Concept of the series
Clear and concise episodes
In order to attract viewers and facilitate their workouts from home, the series was developed as short, dynamic episodes, without an abundance of explanations and visual cues.
The coach as the focal point
The coach's explanations and advice, an important part of the in-person sessions at the club, were used as a main part of the structure of the episodes.
Structure and visual identity
Two parts: explanations and execution
The structure of each episode is based on a first part with the coach facing the camera and delivering workout explanations and advice. Thas was followed by a series of illustrations of the execution of the exercises by the coach himself.
Visual aids to support images
Visual aids such as titles, animated call-outs and color coding allow spectators to quickly grasp the exercises and better understand the intended objectives.
A skillful composition
Each element contributes to making the message clearer.
Colour Coding
The yellow color is part of Antropos CrossFit’s branding, and was used in combination with white to make visual aids more readable
Signage
The symbols used are reproduced on other scenes in order to simplify the understanding of the workout objectives.
Sponsors positioning
The frame is studied in order to passively highlight the sponsors of the club while creating a pleasant frame to the scene.
Call-outs
Tracking call-outs help clearly identify the desired movement.
Compositon
The frame with the club logo in the background was chosen to clearly associate the videos with Antropos CrossFit.
